GIVE YOUR SEED A HEAD START,   INCREASE EARLIER & HEAVIER CROP

  • Early varieties should be "chitted" in January and February
  • there is no need to chit the main crop seed potatoes as they have longer growing season
  • to chit lay seed potatoes on newspaper or old egg box in light cool place in your house. 
  • place them with the most sprouts upwards
  • when sprouts are developed leave the strongest four and rub off the rest of them
  • when they are about 1 inch long the chitting is complete
  • plant from mid March

PLANTING  in fertile soil, sheltered from the wind, well drained soil, with sunlight
