Venus Fly Traps are quite easy to grow, as long as they are given the proper growing conditions.

The Venus Flytrap (Dionaea muscipula) is a small plant that catches and digests insects. The plant's leaves (terminal lobes) have tiny hairs, which trigger the trap to close when an insect comes close. The trapping mechanism is so specialised that it can distinguish between living prey and non-prey stimuli such as falling raindrops. This exciting and unusual plant makes a great gift.

  WATERING

 Always keep moist do not let dry out.  Venus FlyTraps are extremely sensitive to chemicals, so you should only use distilled water or rain water. If it is absolutely necessary to use tap water, allow it to set for 24-48 hours in an open container, to allow the chlorine and any other chemicals to dissipate                                                                 

 Fly Trap plants do not need fertilizer, the insects which they consume 
provide them with all the nutrients they need.
