Ceropegia Woodii

Trailing String of hearts, Ceropegia woodii in hanging pot

String of hearts has small heart shaped leaves with a delightful green lace pattern that grow in opposite pairs along a trailing vine, with the pinkish-purple undersides of the leaves.

It also blooms small off-white and pale magenta flowers. It can grow as long as 4 meters!

Truly a perfect hanging plant.

The string of hearts is actually a hanging succulent, which means that it needs very little watering.

They make a striking present

They tolerate temperatures changes and high humidity making the bathroom a perfect home.

 LIGHT

 Bright light, including some direct early morning or evening sunlight, will enhance the colour.

 WATERING

 Drought tolerant, but for best results keep the soil lightly moist. Water sparingly in winter. Do not over-water.                                                             

 HUMIDITY

 Will enjoy raised humidity levels but most of the time they are happy in normal household conditions.   

 IDEAL TEMPERATURE                                                         

 Normal room temperature anywhere between 18-24°C. Protect from draughts.

It is prone to rot, though, so if you see yellow leaves, your string of hearts is too wet.

It goes dormant during winter so water less during winter time.
