Ficus lyrata FIDDLE LEAF FIG

Add some serious air-cleansing greenery with a large leafed Ficus lyrata.

LIGHT

 Fiddel leaf grows on the floor of the tropical rainforest so indirect light is the ideal spot for him. Those big leaves like a lot of indirect rays, so put him somewhere bright  away from the window in a sunny room.

 WATERING

 He’s much thirstier in summer than winter. Only water when the soil becomes slightly dry and always let the soil dry out before you water again   

  HUMIDITY

 You’ll see the healthiest growth if you give his leaves a regular mist. He absorbs a lot of moisture through his leaves.   

 IDEAL TEMPERATURE                                                         

 enjoys average room temperatures, just keep it away from cold draughts.

First Aid

First its quite normal for the bottom leaves to drop off when its growing so don't panic, they are just making space for the new ones.

If more leaves are falling you need to check water, light  and air. Try to move it to different spot in your home.

If the leaves lose their colour or become brown around the edges it's thirsty.

If the leaves become soft or develop brown patches hold off the drink

Remove any leaves that are have had it and just trim off the brown parts of the leaves that are ok
