Fuchsia 'Sunray' (Tom West) is a unusual hardyFuchsia with a lax habit, carrying variegated green and cream and red foliage, with pink veins and red stems. The small, single blooms are of red and purple and carried in abundance. This variety is moderately vigorous so makes an excellent garden Fuchsia planted in the borders and beds, also very good as a specimen plant for patio containers. It can also be used as, or incorporated into, hedging in well-sheltered spots. It grows well in partial shade, but best foliage colour is achieved in full sun, provided soil moisture can be maintained. Although hardy, it may experience some die back in winter in very exposed areas, but will generally re-grow back in the spring.
Best grown in well-drained, fertile but moist soil, in full sun or partial shade. Provide shelter from cold drying winds and give a deep winter mulch in colder areas. Otherwise it can be grown in pots or containers. Pinch out new growth to encourage the fuchsia to bush out more.
